it is a very correct and timely article comparing the cases of the 2 men.i knew the late and lovely Mr. jahmi. He was a kind and sincere person who would never hurt a fly.Instead an entire regime took on itself to punish Mr. jahmi for voicing the obvious. The Libyan people want freedom and free elections like in any free country. It is shame on Qaddafi regime to dish this inhumane treatment to him.I am sure he won and the Libyan regime lost and it maybe not today but soon.May Allah rest his lovely soul in peace.

Thank you for this article, which clearly shows the mentality of the beduin tyrant governing Libya for the last 40 years. Firstly, Mr. al-Megrahi, who is certainly not a Libyan hero by any measures, was not released from prison for "special humanitarian circumstances.”, but to please Col Gaddafi, his master, and to gain financial benefits by British companies. Secondly, the heroic welcome given to Mr. al-Megrahi by the Gaddafis and their followers, is a clear sign that what he did was following the orders of Col. Gaddafi, for wihich he was awarded by the heroic welcome!!! Personally, I feel sorry for Mr. al- Megrahi, because he is also a Libyan victem of Col. Gaddafi, like the great majority of the Libyan people.

The inhumane way Mr. al-Jahmi, who is a real Libyan hero, was treated by Col. Gaddafi and his followers is the normal way any tyrant would treat his opponents, who want freedom and democracy for their fellow citizens.

Finally, I hope the British people realise that what Col. Gaddafi has done, and is doing, does not represent the Libyan people, because they did not elect him. In other words, he is illegaly governing them.

Carol,

Good artical but what can we say just politics stinks. Gaddafi has no regard for Libyans dead or alive. The month of April was a festive season in Libya for Killing human. Torturing human is an every day act and for entertainment. Terrorism is an eveday language of gaddafi and his followers. Gaddafi and his followers are un conscious of their harmful doing. In other words they can not see anything wrong with that. The question is how are we going to stop this?
